People are afraid of bankruptcy. They think they have done something wrong and they will be punished. They worry that they will be embarrassed, that someone will come and take their things, that the process will be painful and disturbing.
So they wait years sometimes, suffering with crushing debt, before finally calling a lawyer and taking action to fix the problem for themselves and their family.
None of the above fears come to pass. Bankruptcy is an organized, logical process for cancelling debt you cannot pay. Period.
BANKRUPTCY IS A GOOD THING, NOT A BAD THING! Do the math. If your income is insufficient to pay your debts, and collectors are hounding you, it does no good to suffer. Call a lawyer and find out your options before concluding that the bankruptcy will ruin your life which many people fear.
Our experience at Mile High Bankruptcy is that most clients feel a TREMENDOUS sense of relief after the first phone call to our firm, and an even greater sense of relief once the case is complete.
Don’t get me wrong. The feelings of guilt and loss are very real, but problems that cause these feelings are meant to be fixed, and once fixed, people feel proud—not of having filed bankruptcy—but proud of having been courageous enough to face their problems and taken action to have a better life.
